Serendipity "Leave it bare"

Well I made this card for the "baby theme" challenge but as you can see I didn't quite make that deadline.. However..it fits nicely for the Leave it bare over at Serendipity .. late but sweet.  It's hard to photograph white on white this is a true white with the pink bootie from Serendipity.

I've been enjoying the end of summer with time to paint..  here is a larger painting of a garden shed and a card size smaller painting of a doorway that I'm sending off to Dad.  It was only last September that I started watercolor classes and I'm so enjoying it.. See you can teach an old dog new tricks  :)Happy crafting..

But I love the flowers.. watercolor with a touch of pastel.. Yummy

Just a quick card for Dad.. he doesn't have a place for a large painting but cards are always nice and small enough to keep..

Megan's Day

My little cup of Birthday cheer will go to Megan for her 25th birthday on the 11 of September.. Happy Birthday sweetie.  This card will go in challenges Seize the Birthday and Colour Q and Freshly Made Sketches.  Scroll down if you want to check out my watercolor corn.. I don't know who wants picture of corn on the wall.. but it was a fun project.

Fall is in the air.. and with it beautifully colored corn.  I have been working on this for awhile but didn't finish till this last week.  I added the photo with the ruler so you have an idea of size.  Happy crafting.  Susan

MIM Black and white to color

I'm not sure about this one.. I cut the card in half but when you put it back together it doesn't seem to fit.. Did the paper stretch?  Its like when the holidays are over all of your pants seem to have shrunk?  Well it was fun. I stamped the butterflies and sentiment in black then cut off a strip and left the small side while coloring the large side with colored pencils.. it reminded me of the adult type color books that are so popular now..  I added a bling and clear ribbon over a piece of pink paper and ta da.  Hope it brightens your day.

Serendipity is to "leave it bare".. that's hard for me. I tend to be old school.. more layers more love.. but here is my bare as I can get answer to the challenge. 

I hope to be back to blogging with the grand kids off to school (today was their 1st day)and life hopefully getting back to "normal."  

We had a wonderful summer.. camping, Yellowstone.. ocean YIKES no wonder I'm exhausted.  Thanks for checking in to view my blog.

FMS #243, Butterflies and watercolor what a full plate

This is a fun challenge for me.  I usually don't have a card that matches other challenges but this card is good for four. WOW.  I have been gone for a couple of weeks, we went to Yellowstone and had a wonderful time. If you want you can scroll down and check out some of the photos.  I also was inspired by Seize the Birthday and Serendipity challenges to watercolor and include butterflies so after I got home I watercolored this picture below.. hope you enjoy it.

Happy Birthday Faith

Well I have been gone to Yellowstone for a wonderful trip with my Hubby but I'm happy to be back.  I have a niece that is working for one year in Japan. Her name is Faith and she was born on the 4th of July.  How fun is that.  She will be gone for her first holiday and birthday so I'm sending off lots of happy wishes for her.  I will enter this card in Seize the Birthday.  Thanks for stopping by.

Sunshine at FMS #239

I love dragonflies and I love summer.  This background is made from Ken Oliver's Color Burst

watercolor powder.  I got some to gift Patti  for her birthday but couldn't stop from buying some for myself.. well it was my birthday last week  :p    Happy Birthday to us  :)    This card will be put into two challenges Freshly Made Sketches and also Seize the Birthday with their challenge  "Sunshine." Patriotic time of year SSCB#56

With Memorial Day just over and July 4th on the way my mind was thinking Red White and Blue.  I love this Serendipity pinwheel its so festive.  We had a great Memorial Day.. it was my birthday weekend and I have always enjoyed my whole country celebrating my day with me  :)  As kids we used to have my mother's family reunion on Memorial Day and all the cousins and friends would come.. we had way too much fun.  Hope your day was blessed.

Well this isn't too CASE but it's kind of like the  challenge photo..

I had only a large image but I liked the Hydrangea so I went with it but did just the six images instead of the nine.  It came out ok.. I'll keep it  :)

This weeks MIM challenge was fun.. masking.. check out the page here.  I love the added drops the water left in the ink.  Sweet little bird wishes a Happy Birthday for the Seize the Birthday challenge and I'll send this off to SAS4Kids. The perfect blend FMS #237

I'm from Seattle and don't drink coffee.. can you believe it.. No Starbucks how funny.  This is a cute little cup of TEA though  :)  Well maybe.. well not with coffee beans all over it.. guess I'll have to find a coffee drinker to give it to.  I'm putting it in my stash along with putting it in Freshly Made Sketches this week. MIM #249: Make It With Money

What a fun challenge.  I have this little Geisha girl and I thought of using her fan as a money folding fan.. well that's too large a bill and too small of a fan.. so I tried her parasol.. it came out ok though I'm not sure any one could use the money now  :l   I fussy cut out her head and used foam to pop it on.  I also used a match stick to embellish the handle.. Fun, I'm including the original image so you can follow where my brain meandered.. (Good luck on that part..)  Of course this will go to MIM for the money challenge.. also to Seize the Birthday.
